Everyone seems to have a Facebook profile nowadays, so you’re probably aware that Facebook has a feature which allows you to create a Facebook badge that you can display on your blog or website.
George Jones’s Profile | Create Your Badge
With the NEW Gaboinked! Facebook Bade Plugin you can easily display a Facebook Badge in the Sider Bar of your self-hosted WordPress Blog without having to hard-code your WordPress template or use the sometimes unreliable Text Widget. Nice stuff, George!
Can I use this for promoting a group on facebook instead of my personal profile?
Thanks Joakim,
As far as promoting a group, the current version of the Facelook plugin only displays a Facebook Badge. I like your recommendation for promoting a Facebook groups and will look at adding it as a feature in future releases.
conflicts with feedburner stats wordpress plugin. Not a big deal. But they can’t exist together, because they will have the same title
Hi Alvan, not sure what you mean by the same title for the two. Can you be more specific?
George
thanks very useful plugin
Hi George,
I activated your plugin. Where do I get the code to paste and do I paste it into my sidebar theme
thanks
mike
Hey Mike,
Look at the screen grab on this post and the information you need to enter is forms the .js file and is highlighted in yellow in the example above. You do not need the entire code snippet or the .js extension, simply the characters before it.
Hope this helps!
This is a great plugin
The many thanks for the work! I the worshipper Of wordPress, and included your site in survey on my [bloge]. Regards from the Ukraine!
The many thanks for the work
I just put it your plugins on my page. Tks.
Thanks this plugin very nice for my blog.
This plugin is ace
@Joakim, unfortunately the current version can not promote groups. Ironically I wrote it with that exact purpose in mind, but could not find a way to do so from Face. It is still something that I am investigating.

A nice little plugin thank you, i’m using it here - http://www.matthewmillen.co.uk/ with the Aeos theme. Is there any way to change the image and text settings on the widget because the standard text does not appear using this theme so i can only display the facebook photo?

Hi I’m having problems with step 2. I downloaded the file, copied it to my plug-ins directory folder, activated it but I cannot create a badge! Where do you create one?

as you can see here, it is activated.
where do i create the badge?
Hey everyone!
I am in the process of upgrading several of my plugins including the Facebook Badge plugin. When Facebook release there new site, it also included a new badge format. I will update everyone as soon as I am a bit closer to getting the changes out.
Thanks,
George
I just verified that the existing plugin will work just fine as the one displayed in the post above is an actual Facebook badge. You simply need to locate your Facebook ID within their new code snippet. Look for the numerical digits as such:
http://badge.facebook.com/badge/1058300490.42.342623213.png <– These numbers before the .png is need in the plugin configuration.
I am still going to update her for bet compliance with WordPress 2.7+
Hey all!
As promised the updated version is available at http://gaboinked.com. Installation and instruction are being worked on as we speak! The code has been revamped some, and it is compliant with the new Facebook badge tags, as well as WordPress 2.7.x.
